How Beconase Hay Fever Relief Nasal Spray works
Beconase Hay Fever Relief Nasal Spray contains the active ingredient beclometasone disproportionate, which is a corticosteroid.
Corticosteroids reduce inflammation, so this product will reduce the inflammation in your nose and ease the irritation that causes sneezing and itching.
Directions
Always use Beconase Hay Fever Relief Nasal Spray exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor pharmacist has told you.
Before using this product, shake the bottle well.
Remove the dust cap and place the spray nozzle into one nostril, holding the other closed; breathe in through your nose and press down on the pump to release the spray into your nostril.
Repeat in the other nostril.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Beconase Hay Fever Relief Nasal Spray may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. There are no known commonly reported side effects of this product.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Beconase Hay Fever Relief Nasal Spray may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if:
- You have recently had surgery on your nose
- You have an infection or ulcers in your nose
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any other medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking or using any other corticosteroid medicines, such as inhalers, tablets, eczema creams, injections, nasal sprays, or eye and nose drops.
Age restrictions
This product is unsuitable for anyone under 18 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any new medicine.
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
