Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel contains the active ingredient ibuprofen, which is one of a group of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, or NSAIDs. This means that this gel will not only help to relieve pain but will help to reduce inflammation and swelling in the affected area.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel should not be used by anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. Always speak to your doctor,  pharmacist, or another healthcare professional before taking any medication while pregnant or breastfeeding. This will help you to be sure that your medication is safe for both you and your baby.

How to use Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel

Squeeze 2 – 5cm of Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel directly onto the affected area, making sure there is enough to form a thin layer over the entire area. Massage into the skin gently, rubbing in until the gel is absorbed. Do this up to 3 times a day for best results. Wash your hands after using this product, unless you are treating your hands.

When should Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel not be used?

Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel is not suitable for use on children under the age of 12 unless specifically advised otherwise by your doctor. Do not use this product if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not apply this gel to broken, damaged, infected, diseased, or sensitive skin. For external use only, avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. Do not use this product if:

• You are asthmatic or suffer from rhinitis or hives and have had a bad reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs in the past
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have a stomach ulcer
• You have ever had kidney problems
• You have ever had asthma
• You have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin or ibuprofen ever taken by mouth

Does this product have side effects?

Like all medicines, Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel can have side effects, although not everyone will get them. These side effects include:

• Mild skin rashes
• Itching
• Skin irritation
• Allergic reactions, e.g. unexplained runny nose or watery eyes, breathing difficulties or wheezing, itching, swelling, redness, blistering, nausea, swollen facial features, difficulty swallowing
• Kidney problems e.g. passing less urine than usual, loss of appetite or weight loss, swelling of the abdomen
• Problems with the digestive system, e.g. stomach pain, heartburn, indigestion

If you experience these or any other side effects while using Ibuleve Maximum Strength Gel, stop use and speak to your doctor or  pharmacist right away.
