What is Otrivine Adult  Nasal Drops?

Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops is designed to help to relieve blocked and stuffy noses. It helps to clear your nasal passages so you can breathe more easily. Ideal for those suffering with a blocked nose and looking for a quick and simple solution.

Why do I have a blocked nose?

There are many reasons why you might develop a blocked nose, as it’s an incredibly common issue to have. Some of the most common causes of a blocked or stuffy nose include:

• Cold and flu
• Hay fever
• Rhinitis
• Sinusitis or a sinus infection
• Reaction to medication

How will this product clear my blocked nose?

Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops contains the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride, which helps to clear your nasal passages. It does this by helping swollen blood vessels in your nose return to the right size, giving you more room to breathe. It also helps to reduce excessive secretions produced in your nose, reducing blockage.

How to use Otrivine Adult Dose Nasal Drops?

Always use Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Core pharmacist has told you.

2-3 drops should be applied inside each nostril up to 3 times per day. Do not exceed 3 applications per day.

Do not take this product for more than 7 days in a row.

When should Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops not be used?

Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops is not suitable for use on children under the age of 12. Do not use if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other listed ingredients. This product should not be used by those who have recently had neurosurgery. Speak to your doctor or our pharmacist before using this Nasal Drops if you:

• Have hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid gland).
• Have glaucoma.
• Have diabetes mellitus.
• Have heart disease.
• Have circulatory disease.
• Are pregnant or breast feeding.
• Have hypertension.
• Have recently taken any other medicines, especially MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) or any other antidepressants.

Does this product have any side effects?

Like all medicines, Otrivine Adult Nasal Drops can have side effects, although not everyone will get them. These side effects include:

• Burning sensation in the nose and throat
• Local irritation
• Nausea
• Headache
• Dryness of the nasal membranes
• Temporary and passing visual disturbances
• Allergic reactions
• Cardiovascular effects or palpitations, especially in those with heart problems

If you experience these or any other side effects while using this Nasal Drops, speak to your doctor or our pharmacist right away.
