Strepsils Extra Blackcurrant – 24 Lozenges

Strepsils Extra Blackcurrant Lozenges are a medicated throat treatment formulated to provide powerful relief from severe sore throats. Unlike standard throat lozenges, Strepsils Extra contains an active analgesic ingredient—hexylresorcinol—which offers both antiseptic and local anaesthetic action. This helps to not only relieve pain but also tackle the underlying bacterial cause of throat discomfort. The lozenges are blackcurrant-flavoured and sugar-free.

Uses / Indications

This product is indicated for the symptomatic relief of sore throats, including pain, inflammation, and bacterial infection in the mouth and throat. It is especially suited for more intense throat pain, where additional analgesic support is needed.

Dosage and Administration

Adults and children aged 12 years and over should dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours as required.

• Do not exceed 8 lozenges in 24 hours.

• Do not chew or swallow whole.

• Not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

Active Ingredient (per lozenge)

• Hexylresorcinol 2.4 mg

Other Ingredients

Isomalt, maltitol syrup, citric acid, tartaric acid, blackcurrant flavour, levomenthol, sucralose, carmine, and indigo carmine.
This product is sugar-free, but contains polyols which may cause a mild laxative effect in some individuals.

Warnings and Precautions

• Not suitable for children under 12 years.

• If symptoms persist, worsen, or are accompanied by a high fever, consult a healthcare professional.

• Do not exceed the stated dose.

• Excessive consumption may cause gastrointestinal discomfort or a laxative effect due to the presence of maltitol and isomalt.

• Store below 25°C in a dry place.

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Strepsils Extra Lozenges are generally well tolerated. However, some users may experience:
