Here’s a simple usage guide for the A&D UT-103 Digital Thermometer:
- Turn On: Press the power button to turn on the thermometer. The display will show a brief self-check, then it’s ready for use.
- Position the Thermometer:
- Oral: Place the tip of the thermometer under the tongue and close your mouth.
- Axillary (underarm): Place the tip in the center of the armpit and ensure it’s in full contact with the skin.
- Rectal: Apply a lubricant to the tip, then gently insert it into the rectum (mostly for infants).
- Wait for the Beep: Hold the thermometer in place until you hear a beep, indicating the reading is complete.
- Read the Temperature: Remove the thermometer and read the temperature on the digital display.
- Turn Off: Press the power button to turn off the thermometer. It will also auto-shutoff after a few minutes of inactivity.
- Clean: Clean the thermometer with alcohol wipes or warm, soapy water before storing.
